Ashridge House Weddings

Last month, we were invited to Ashridge House, a luxury wedding venue in Hertfordshire for an evening of networking with fellow prestigious UK Wedding Planners and a handpicked team of Ashridge House recommended wedding suppliers. The visit allowed us to sample the new season’s wedding menu, stay overnight in one of their newly refurbished bedrooms and enjoy a private tour of the house and grounds, before attending their popular wedding showcase the following day.

Built-in 1283, Ashridge House is a Grade 1 listed Country House wedding venue and is the former royal residence of Henry Vlll and Princess Elizabeth I. Set in 190 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, the converted monastery is just a short drive from London, in the picture-perfect Hertfordshire countryside. Ashridge is renowned for its ornate Gothic architecture and stunning gardens, it is a beautiful wedding venue that is perfect for a fairy-tale wedding in England. There are options for indoor or outdoor wedding celebrations and it has its own stunning chapel on site, which is available for a limited number of wedding blessings each year.

We arrived late afternoon and were shown to one of the newly decorated bedrooms, before joining our industry colleagues for Champagne and canapes by the famous staircase for a drinks reception. Entertainment for the evening was from Wedding singer Mrs Jones before we were welcomed by the wedding team, then guided into dinner.

The new 2024 wedding menu, using locally sourced ingredients, was served in one of the private dining rooms to guests and I was perfectly placed between two photographers friends, John Nassari and Becky Lee Brun, so not only was the food delicious, but the company was wonderful!

Following dinner, we enjoy a nightcap in the bar, before heading back to one of the 190 rooms located in the modern extension, just a short walk from the main house. The following day, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, before a private tour of the House and gardens to learn more about weddings and events at Ashridge House.

It is so important to our couples that they have a unique wedding day and the wonderful team at Ashridge has assured us that they offer flexible packages to all of their couples that ensures a truly personal wedding planning journey - we look forward to returning soon.
