After getting engaged, Bansrii & Roger decided that they wanted to return home to the UK to marry. Living in Perth, Australia, they chose Planned for Perfection to help them plan their December 2015 wedding in England. The theme for the day was “East meets West” and with fifteen months to plan the wedding, Bansrii and Roger returned to the UK in September to meet me, view potentional venues and choose their wedding suppliers.
We had a very productive fortnight and exciting plans were made for an Exclusive Use Winter wedding at Elmore Court, booked for 30th December 2015. Unfortunately in December 2014, Bansrii called me to inform me that her mother had been diagnosed with a serious illness, so the wedding plans gathered pace and in less than a month, a beautiful intimate wedding was planned for during the time that Bansrii and Roger had already booked to return home to spend Christmas and New Year with family..
Wooton House Hotel was chosen as the location for the wedding celebrations, ideally located close to the family home in Surrey. The team there kindly allowed us to bring in our own Asian wedding caterers, Curry Special for the wedding day catering and also allowed us to have access to the room the day before the wedding to create the wedding day vision discussed with our lovely couple.
Oasis Events were hired to custom build a Mandap for the ceremony, which was beautifully dressed in red roses and burnt orange amaryllis by Maria and the team from Sorori designs flowers who also created a stunning floral arch to frame the wedding cake, which was baked by Curtis and co cakes. Just before Christmas, we sent Jennie a sample of Bansrii’s sari, so that she could replicate the pattern on to the three tier cake, a talking point amongst the wedding guests!
Bansrii and Roger enjoyed a really special day with their family and friends, both looking gorgeous in traditional Indian dress. Bansrii wore her hair and make up, styled impeccably by award winning Annie Shah. After the ceremony, guests were entertained by Gloucestershire magician, who amazed everyone with his magic, so much so that he was booked there and then to return for “Part 2” later this year – a testament to his awesome magic! Another supplier booked to return join us again in December is super cool and very talented London photographer, Jez Dickson who captured some truly breath taking and very emotional moments that occurred throughout the day.
The day ended with a Bollywood dance performance and entertainment from Jay Kumar dance, who led a traditional Indian dance “Dandiya Rass” where guests danced with red, green and gold sticks, that had been given to them as wedding favours.
This wedding was absolutely fabulous, I’m not sure if this was because everyone was determined that Mrs Shah would have the best memories to treasure of her daughters wedding, because Hindu weddings are so exciting and energetic or because Bansrii and Roger are so much fun and the loveliest of couples…..perhaps a combination of all three! As much as the wedding day was about the bride and groom, it was also a celebration of love, life, family, friends, life and how important all of them are!
Planning is now in full swing for part 2 of the wedding celebrations, taking place in the Cotswold’s later this year and is already set to be another wonderful wedding day!
Take a sneak peek behind the scenes of the wedding day set up, captured by Laura Power Photography who was assisting Sorrori designs for the day.
