Gift of a Wedding – Cotswold Wedding – Hare & Hounds Tetbury

A VERY SPECIAL “GIFT OF A WEDDING”

Gift of a Wedding is a fabulous UK charity who gift weddings to brides or grooms with an incurable illness.

All Planned for Perfection weddings are special, but a recent wedding that we helped to plan was extra special. We were chosen from a long list of volunteers to help a charity called ‘Gift of a Wedding’  whose weddings are all gifted by suppliers to terminally ill brides or grooms and those with life-shortening illnesses. A recent shock cancer diagnosis of a family friend meant that this cruel disease was on my mind constantly, which is why I decided to get in touch with this wonderful charity and offer my support.

After chatting with Patricia, the lady who set up the charity, and her colleague Lisa, I just knew that I just had to be involved with such a worthy cause. We met with bride to be Sarah, who has incurable cancer, and her groom, Tim, to discuss their dreams for their big day. We then contacted all of the suppliers that had been chosen by Gift of a wedding, to bring everything together and make their dreams for their perfect wedding come true.

The couple wanted a truly intimate wedding day. It was just the two of them, exchanging heartfelt vows in the Spring sunshine, followed photographs in the grounds, a romantic dinner for two and an overnight stay in the secluded Game Keepers cottage at The Hare and Hounds in Tetbury .

The groom arrived in a Jenson Interceptor, gifted by a local company Cropredy Bridge and waited in the Breeze room for his beautiful bride. Sarah had chosen to get ready at The Hare and Hounds, so that she only had the short distance to walk across the gardens to meet her husband to be for their wedding ceremony.

The ceremony was conducted by local Wedding Celebrant, Christina Snell who had helped the couple write their beautifully unique and very personal wedding vows.

Sarah looked absolutely stunning in a Maggie Sottero Wedding Dress, gifted to her by our wonderful friends at Wedding Days of Cheltenham. She had pinned the Gina dress by Rebecca Ingram as inspiration and was delighted when Jane and her team offered to lend it to her… and was totally speechless when they later gifted it to her as a wedding day treat!

The brief from the couple was “an intimate and very personal day with fun, laughter, fairy lights and a pop of colour in the bridal bouquet” and that is exactly what happened… This wedding was was about what every wedding day is about, the love of two people, who clearly love each other dearly and who enjoyed a day that is uniquely designed for their perfect day. There was lots of laughter from this most adorable couple, they embraced the day with so much love and enjoyed every single moment together. It was about all about the two of them, no pressure, no sadness, just love and laughter – they were inspiring!

We were honoured to be just a tiny part of an amazing group of local wedding suppliers who gifted Mr & Mrs E, their dream wedding. A huge thank you to Gift of a Wedding for choosing to have this wedding Planned for Perfection and to the generous suppliers who helped to give Mr & Mrs Evans their perfect wedding day!

To be told that we had all taken this brief and worked our wedding planning magic perfectly, was all that we could ever ask for..
