Worcester Cathedral Wedding – Luxury Wedding Planner

Luxury wedding at Worcester Cathedral

Our brief for Holly and James luxury Worcestershire Wedding was “Timeless Elegance” which had to echo certain classical elements from the 2011 Royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Katherine…

Captured perfectly by Denee Motion Films, we think Holly was very much a regal bride.

With 5 bridesmaids, 4 flower girls and a pageboy, Holly decided to move out of her family home for a few day’s to enjoy a weekend of celebrating with family and friends at the Lygon Arms Hotel in the Cotswold village of Broadway. The weekend included a pre wedding dinner, the wedding itself and a post wedding BBQ for close family and friends.

Holly had two bespoke wedding dresses, both of which were designed and made by Susan Gadsby from Greensleeve Bridal in Evesham, who also made the 5 bridesmaids dresses. Both dresses were inspired by Hollys love of several iconic wedding dresses and included a high lace neckline, pin-tucked shoulders, an exposed lace bodice, sheer lace sleeves, a bustle and a two and a half metre train! A bespoke handmade veil was also worn, with Hollys ‘something borrowed’ being the most beautiful vintage Edwardian platinum and diamond tiara, which had been perfectly placed by Di Macdonald, who had been booked to look after the bridal parties hair and make up.

Following the drinks reception, guests made the short walk from the palace gardens to College Hall at Kings School, which had been lined with lime trees and decorated beautifully, bringing the outside in to create a beautiful, rather majestic atmosphere.

The tables had been named as individual trees, each tree chosen by the bride to convey a message for the guests sitting on the specific table. Guests had lavender short bread favours, made by the Lavender picked from the family home and Stephaine Saunders had added grandeur to the hall with elegant and impressive table arrangements.

Holly and James had two wedding cakes, both made by family members, a traditional fruit cake and an indulgent chocolate cake.

After the wedding breakfast, singer Paul Pashley entertained guests with his velvet voice and engaging showmanship before a friend of James’ Dj’d for the party element of the evening.
