Orangery Wedding in Gloucestershire

Tortworth Court is a four star Country Manor House Hotel located in south Gloucestershire and is popular with couples from around the world, who are looking for a historic wedding venue with a modern and contemporary feel. Built in 1874, The Victorian Orangery is a stunning Grade II listed conservatory, with an ornate domed glass ceiling and 360 windows for a bright and beautiful wedding day celebration.

Like a lot of our couples, Adelle and Joel live in America and were planning two weddings - one in Buffolo, NYC, and the other near the bride’s original family home in England.

Adelle knew how she wanted her UK wedding to unfold, she wanted her English family to enjoy a day similar to that of her wedding in the USA, but with a nod to her English heritage and her love of the UK countryside. Family and friends from both the UK and the USA joined the couple for a quintessentially English wedding and for the first time ever, I was both wedding planner and guest!

This beautiful wedding was extra special, as it was the wedding of the daughter of a friend of mine, who sadly passed away a few years ago. The brides family emigrated to America when Adele was just 10 years old and they have lived there ever since. Lauren, the brides beautiful mum used joke about what a useful friend I would be when the time eventually came for us to plan our own daughters weddings - they were about nine at the time and so it seemed a life time away… Fast forward to 2021 and Adelle is in the industry herself in America (A talented wedding photographer in the USA - Love & Life Photography - check her out!) and she called to ask for my help in planning her UK wedding, it was never in doubt that I would help her and her partner Joel. Not only had I promised her mum, Adelle is the kindest soul, a dear friend of my daughters and a very special young lady (and Joel is totally charming too!)

The bride chose a Stella York dress from Bliss Bridal boutique in America, she wore her hair styled in a loose bohemian braid styled by Emily Williams hair and her make up artist was Get Ready with Katie. The groom wore a custom made green suit from Bureau made, which worked perfectly with the pretty blush peach colour pallette. The floral designs were created by Verbena floral styling and included a floral arch for the ceremony and dinner, table centres and the prettiest hand tied bouquets.

During the day we remembered the much loved Mother of the Bride with a ceremony chair, a hand tying ceremony using material from her favourise dresses, a photo of her on her own wedding day and a photo montage following the speeches - emotional is an understatement, but a joyful day full of love and laughter none the less!

Niche Events provided a flower wall as back drop for the two-tier semi-naked peach & prosecco wedding cake by Cake Day dreams and once the cake was cut, the wall was used as a backdrop for the photobooth.

This family loves to party and The Indie Killers ensured that the dance floor was full all night long.
