Hartham Park Weddings & Parties

Last week, we were invited to Spring Fable, a wedding planning network event held at the stunning Hartham Park in Wiltshire. Unfortunately, we missed the afternoon events due to a prior commitment, but after a whirlwind day spent with one of our American couples, who had flown in from the U.S. to plan their dream wedding in the UK, we arrived just in time for the evening gathering.

Hidden in the Wiltshire countryside, Hartham Park Estate is a picturesque 50-acre parkland estate with a Georgian house dating back to the 18th century. It’s set within the timeless beauty of the Cotswolds, near the village of Corsham, a short drive from Bath.

The house and gardens are licensed for ceremonies, and there’s also a quaint church in the grounds, within walking distance of the main house. Unlike many traditional churches, Hartham Church offers both religious and non-religious marriage ceremonies, without the need for prior religious affiliation, and can seat around 150 guests.

This Georgian wedding venue is a unique and versatile space for couples to celebrate their wedding day. With a choice of elegant dining rooms, inviting party areas, and a late license until 2 am (a real bonus for party-loving couples!) it’s well-suited for both intimate gatherings and lively celebrations. On-site cottages sleep up to 16 guests, with additional local accommodation available for extended family and friends in the local area.

The estate provides the perfect setting to unwind, reflect and celebrate, and it was wonderful to visit to catch up with industry friends.

On arrival, I met with a lovely lady called Jen, from Jackdaw Editorial, and we had a brief conversation, which began with her asking where I’d gotten such a great (but quickly fading!) suntan. We then chatted about my recent trip to Australia. I explained how I had spent eight weeks there, during which time I enjoyed a family holiday in Western Australia, working with a venue in Sydney worked remotely and caught up with my daughter, who is currently living in Sydney. She then typed a personalised poem for me, something that she also does at weddings - How wonderful is this?

A World Away – for Jane

This place is pale gold sand

& hot blue sky, a pace of life

that beats in time with my own heart –

nothing frenetic, everything in its place.

Here I can send thoughts & plans across the world like bright ribbons,

landing softly in the dead of English night,

leaving me free to be at ease on the sand

on the gentle shoreline - the clink of chilled glasses in my near future.

This is a world away from home

& yet it’s not, because here you are,

your hand briefly squeezing mine

like it did when you were little

as the sun sinks into the sea.

The evening commenced with cocktails in the bar before we made our way to dinner, seated at beautifully dressed tables, where the scent of spring blooms and bold vegetables met with the warmth of flickering candles. A delicious feasting dinner was served in one of the estate’s timeless spaces, where classic architecture met welcoming hospitality.

It was great to catch up with industry friends and make new connections. Evenings like this remind us why we do what we do, and of the people who make it all the more rewarding. It’s this sense of community that keeps us all inspired.

Our day may have started with logistics and timelines, but it ended with a reminder of what makes the wedding industry so special: collaboration, passion, and an unspoken understanding of how hard we all work for our couples. Beneath the high ceilings of a beautiful Georgian Manor, we saw for ourselves just how well looked after our couples would be here.

Thank you for the kind invitation, and to the team of suppliers who made the evening so memorable:
